Shaddy, Chipfumo set for an epical performance in Mvurwi

Zimbabwean music legends King Shaddy and Progress Chipfumo are this Friday expected to make a thrilling performance at Mzansi Lounge in Mvurwi.
The duet is sharing the stage for the first time at the fast growing upmarket night club in the town of Mashonaland Central.
Though it is not the first time for Mzansi to court Chipfumo it is however the first appearance of the Makorokoza paMusau team.
In an a comment to Showbiz Times, music promoter and bar owner Prince Chipenda affectionately known as Boss Mzansi said this is one of the special offer that he has brought for entertainment lovers.
“ we have had  made shows and brought several entertainment artists at Mzansi Lounge however today’s (Friday) show is one of the most epic and we are looking forward to a thrilling performance.
“ We all know King Shaddy is a music legend however few had ever have a chance of watching him on the stage , as for Proggie everyone in Mashonaland Central is a friend, brother and comrade to Chipfumo sounds of motherland,” said Chipenda.
Brand ambassador at Mzansi, Simbarashe Sithole said they are committed to set a new pace in the town’s entertainment.
 “We are now shifting to stage two of the entertainment revival in the town, this means that we are now bringing more than one artists for every performance.
“That is why we started with the duo of Shaddy and Progress to set for us a new pace at Mzansi,” he said.

 Dendere hosts Vedu Female Ensemble

Fast rising Zimbabwe’s female band is this week expected to rock the local showbiz industry as it is set to make one of its epic performance at Mvurwi Dendere Night Club.
The group of seven ladies which trades by the name Vedu Female Band has made waves in several entertainment scenes and have performed alongside the likes of Progress Chipfumo and Harare International Festive (HIFA).
In a recent interview, Dendere Night Club owner and music promoter Shingirayi Run’anga said the group is one of the few organized and dedicated group which is not associated with nudity like the many female dominated dancing queens which have populated the night clubs in the cities.
“Vedu is one of the dedicated group of females who have distinguish made themselves unique by departing from the common nudity and strip tease that is associated with dancing queens.
“These are ladies who have been to colleges and at one time I used to promote and assist them to be where they are today. The group is into live band including drums, guitars, and key boards with vocalist and is quite perfect with the stage,” said Run’anga.
During one of its interviews with the 263 Chat the band said there is need for women to also present a challenging competition in the male dominated showbiz industry, “ being a woman does not make you lesser of a human being it’s just that several competitions are just won by men; being a female band is also an extra ordinary thing since people do not expect us to do some of those things that other guys out they cannot do hence we are here to show that as ladies we can play the bass and beat the dream as well,”.
The weekend show is also accompanied by performance from the upcoming artist Brianmore ‘Ding’ Chipara who is dominating mainstream entertainment news and has recently performed alongside sungura gurus like Peter Moyo and Romeo Gasa.
“Yes I feel very honoured to be a male artist sharing the stage with an all-female band, it was one of those rare occasions which also increase my visibility on the showbiz scene as well as showcasing my newly dropped single titled ‘Kufara’ featuring .Com,” said Ding.

Soma laments piracy 

By Simbarashe Sithole-   SUNGURA artist Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele affectionately known as Soma by his supporters has lamented piracy which has prompted him to name his forth coming album as Kurimira Hanga.
Having recorded about 25 albums since 1999 Soma is now holding live shows at slow pace and taking his time in releasing albums.
Speaking to Newsday life and Style at Nzvimbo growth point in Chiweshe over the weekend at victory celebrations of Mazowe Central constituency legislator Sydney Chidamba, Soma said the industry is no longer paying him due to piracy.
“It is so painful that we labour for our music but someone on the streets just burn CDs and sell them on the streets (ndokunonzi kurimira hanga) so l have a 5 track album coming between June and July called Kurimira hanga, we are in serious trouble with piracy, “said Ndebele.
“We are now conducting shows at a very slow pace because in some instances we fail to get money and my boys will still need from me so it is better to stay home and only go for shows when duty calls.”
Meanwhile, Soma shared the stage in Chiweshe with Sulumani Chimbetu, Simon Mutambi and Mvurwi based artist and comedian Lloyd Jack aka Matumbu ahead of thousands of people that came for the victory celebrations.

Mutambi makes a date with artisanal miners

Artisanal miners in Bindura will be treated to a heavy entertainment Africa Day commemorations as their stage favourite sungura musician Simon Mutambi is expected to perform a thriller show at Club 1160.
Mutambi who is viewed as a music mirror version of sungura maestro Alick Macheso will also be sampling his new album titled ‘Hazvipere Mushe’.
In a recent interview Club 1160 owner and music promoter Nyasha Muwomba said Mutambi is a darling of the artisanal miners popularly known as ‘Makorokozas’ who are the largest fan base in town.
“Iam very much impressed this weekend as I will be hosting Simon Mutambi on Friday and what I know is that Bindura is a town of Makorokozas and Mutambi is much loved here by these guys. This is one of his fans stronghold and we are sure he will rock the town on this Africa Day eve,” said Muwomba who is affectionately known among his fans as Boss Bhanyaz.
The Beatrice-based musician is one of the sungura tigers raising the genre flag together with artists like Romeo Gasa and Tatenda Pinjisi.
Meanwhile, in full showbiz throttle Boss Bhanyaz has made another date with Blessing and the Blade for a treat with the bid bellied ‘Madhalaz”.
“We have slated Blessing for Saturday, he is into copyrights and he is one of the all-round music fanatic as he can play the old school, gospel and whichever genre, we have specially lined him up for the old guard generation, thus we have a heavy entertainment offering this coming weekend,” added Bhanyaz.
Club 1160 brand ambassador and journalist Simbarashe Sithole also added that the up-class club is ushering in something new this week, “ we urge those who want to come  and witness for themselves, we are shifting from an afro-fusion genre to sungura this week as we cater for every fan and soon we have a Zimdancehall slot,”.
Guspy Warrior and Crystal Rich will be closing the month with a much anticipated performance at Club 1160.

Famous Bindura Club 1160 owner has said this week history is going to repeat itself as they host Baba Keketso for the second time.
Speaking on the sidelines of the show slated for tomorrow, music promoter and club owner Nyasha Muwomba pnopularly known as Boss Bhanyaz said he has managed to brought a new life to the showbiz arena in Bindura
“What I know is history repeats itself, last time when I hosted Baba Keketso doors almost burst and this time we are expecting something big as it has been time before returning to Bindura. This club is now a fanatic to fans and there is no other place like Club 1160 which is glowingly smarter,” said Bhanyaz
The club is a mirror miniature of Ginimbi Club Sankayi that is if we are to look at the lavish style, classic services, bar ladies and the liquor in the holy of holies.
“It is the only smartest club in town if not the whole of the province, it has become a game changer by bringing all forms of entertainment every week. We begin with Ladies Night on a Thursday, Fridays are Dad’s Out accompanied with Shows and Sundays we have a Chill Out when we mix with fans drinking from morning with Gango and lots of meat,” added Boss Bhanyaz.
The club has also courted the services of none other than Mash Central journo Simbarashe Sithole who is the ambassador responsible for the high life and style pattern.
“ Boss Bhanyaz is one of the few club owners and music promoters ever to be in Bindura, we have hosted many big names here courtesy of Boss Bhanyaz to mention but a few. Nevertheless, this Friday which is tomorrow we are offering Andy Muridzo and the Jeetaz Band.
“Andy is one of the afro-fusion crop of artists rocking the music industry in Zimbabwe. At Club 1160 we are trying to build a legacy of what it is to be a game changer, it is where we meet the big bellied  fishes and stiletto high heeled beauties  since we offer classy and taste only,” said Sithole.
The growth of show business has been a long delayed thing in many provinces as it has only been a preserve of the town folks in the high city life but now with the changing of times many has embraced the modern day lifestyle.

Gasa to rock Mzansi

Sunguru musician Romeo Gasa of the Extra Valembe band is this Friday expected to perform at Mvurwi most popularly club Mzansi Lounge just a few weeks after several musicians have come to whet the appetite for more shows.
Gasa is one of the contemporary sungura musician who has brought a new flavor to the genre with his thematic songs on love and social life which touches on the lives of many ordinary folks and is coming at a time when the tobacco selling season is reaching its zenith with a high hype in town.
The musician is riding high after his recent video titled “Mr Brown” which is making waves in the sungura circles due to its rich love lyrics and recently he stunned fans with his performance at Cresta Jameson hotel.
Music promoter and Mzansi Lounge owner Prince Chipenda said he has specially brought Gasa as an offer for the tobacco farmers milling in the town to enjoy and shake off the dust from the fields.
“This time of the year we have many tobacco farmers who are also our friends and customers and they usually enjoy themselves once before returning to the fields till we see them next selling season so we try to bring them artists and shows so that they get to fully enjoy themselves,”
Mash Central journalists and brand ambassador for Mzansi Lounge, Simbarashe Sithole also said the coming of Gasa who will be performing alongside Ding is evidence that sungura music is the rhythm soul of the agrarian province.
“Yes we have Gasa on Mzansi on Friday the 17th of May and we are happy with the response of the fans towards the genre. Recently we had Alick Macheso who also rocked Mvurwi and Tatenda Pinjisi rocked Guruve so we have also seen it proper to bring Simbi Hombe to Mvurwi.
“Gasa is a man of the strings and drums who is dominating in the showbiz sector hence we expect fireworks,” he said.
Upcoming afro-fusion artist Brianmore ‘Ding” Chipara who set the stage alight during Peter Moyo performance is also expected to curtain raise for Gasa.

Mzansi restoring the showbiz legacy

Mash Central, Mzansi Lounge has brought a new midas touch to the national showbiz arena at the same time also restoring the lost entertainment glory in the farm town of Mvurwi as well as bringing before the stage forgotten heroes.
The growing spirit of entertainment that has encircled the town has created memorable times and wetted the appetite for more exciting moments in the town which has seen Mzansi Lounge shows headlining mainstream papers like the NewsDay, Life & Style.
In a recent interview with the ShowBiz Times, journalist and brand ambassador of the Mzansi Lounge, Simbarashe Sithole said he is more driven by the need to return the forgotten artist on the stage as well as offer a platform for local upcoming artists to showcase their talent and get a springboard to make it higher in the entertainment circle.
“We are quite happy with the rising levels of the showbiz sector in our town of Mvurwi to which is my home as well. As a journalist passionate about his home and the future of entertainment I have partnered with local clubs in the province to work towards uplifting arts in our country.
“Also, we are keen to see that those artists who seem to have been buried by the new music trends have also acquired a stage and satiated the nolstagia in their fans. I am happy to say we have made meaningful strides towards that vision,” he said.
Mzansi has so far brought to limelight several artists among them  Andy Muridzo, Peter Moyo, Progress Chipfumo and recently hosted Wasu Dacoda and the Syndicate Girls.
Local artists have also managed to brush shoulder with heavy weights the likes of Innocent Samwa and Brianmore ‘Ding’ Chipara who recently staged a touching Tuku Tribute song during the Wasu dubbed show.
Meanwhile, Mzansi proprietor and music promoter Prince Chipende said there is a growing demand for more artists by the town and even earmarks to host big names like Jah Prazeh.
“We are experiencing a growing demand for shows from people and we have so far brought a number of artists to perform which has been profitable for many of them.
“I am confident very soon will also be able to woo bigger superstars the likes of Jah Prazeh,” he said.

 Samwa rocks Bindura brand ambassador ceremony

Mvurwi based Afro-fusion artist Innocent Samwa recently made a name after rocking the stage during an Econet award ceremony held in Bindura at Mayfair Lodge.
The artists said he was thrilled to showcase his music prowess during the Brand Ambassador Awards Program where he performed his hit jiti song, ‘Chikopokopo’,  'Akaromba' and 'Ndoda kufara' 
“I am overwhelmed with the recent performance that I did in Bindura where I was part of the workshop held by Econet.
“I had handed over my name to participate during entertainment time and when the stage time came I took people by surprise as no one knew that I was I am artist, I managed to perform a very impressing and interesting stage show as everyone came upfront dancing.
“Even way after the show I became a paragon of virtue, I got quite inspired by the confidence, esteem and support that I got from the fellow mates who were in attendance,” said Samwa.
Samwa who trades by the Richtary music label is one of the most upcoming afro-fusion artists who is currently working on videos for his album 'Mavambo'.
As the case with several upcoming artists, getting a stage and shows to perform is difficult in the showbiz sector yet it is one of the major factor for artists to have a chance to showcase their talents so as to attract promotions.
